Raquel de souza (pronounced Deh-SO-ZAH) is a singer/songwriter from NY. Aside from releasing songs under Raquel de Souza, you can catch Raquel performing and also releasing songs with her up and coming country rock band Raquel & The Wildflowers. Raquel started out by releasing her first single “Run Towards The Highway." The song charted #32 on DRT Top 50 Country Airplay Charts in 2018 and remained on the charts for 10 weeks straight, alongside household names such as Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Chris Stapleton. The song was released with a music video on youtube (filmed by Monster in the Dark) and was featured on outlets such as "Hot New Music Videos" and "Making Music Magazine". The song was also featured on Nashville Country Music Magazine (May 2018 Edition).
Raquel later released her new song"King of the Jungle". The song made its radio debut Feb. 22nd 2019, and continued on a radio tour doing a live acoustic performance and interview. The song was featured in the “Women to Watch Wednesday” country playlist, independent Spotify playlists and received a great review by UMC.
Raquel & The Wildflowers will be performing at Country Fest 2020 in a line up with artists such as Dierks Bently, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Runaway June, Brothers Osborne and more. Previous performances also include opening for Multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer at Stamford's Wednesday Night Live, Manhattanville Quad Jam (headliner Lupe Fiasco), Daryl's House opening for international country star Jessica Lynn, Rockin’ on the River opening for the award-winning band Skeeter Creek, The Bitter End, International Festival of Arts & Ideas, NashSkill Music Festival and more.
Currently Raquel is working on releasing new songs in 2020 as Raquel de Souza and with The Wildflowers. She is also actively performing with the band.
